In his latest capacity, he was an enrichment teacher working with gifted students at Wydown Middle School before becoming Education Director for Lewis and Clark Then and Now. Previously in his career, Tim taught courses including world history, civics, American Government, drama, speech, debate, journalism, and also worked with high school gifted students. In these courses, as well as in his extracurricular work as sponsor of theatrical productions, the speech and debate team and National History Day, Tim has utilized the project's integrated curriculum strategies.

He has trained in cognitive coaching strategies, adaptive schools research, professional learning communities, and backward planning as an assessment method. In the spring of 2002, he was selected to join the Cooperating School District of St. Louis' professional development cadre to offer professional development to its 51 member schools in these areas of professional conversation.
As a result of his work with students and teachers, Tim has received a variety of honors. These honors include being named Outstanding Teacher by the Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri, being named state finalist for Missouri Teacher of the Year, earning the Three Diamond Award from the National Forensic League, and receiving the Distinguished Service Award from the Missouri State High School Activities Association.
